Realignment Subcommittees
The following subcommittees have been formed and have begun to work. If you have questions about their work or want to give input to the subcommittee, click here to send an email.
Communications
- Develop a communications plan to use with the general public for the entire merger process, including recommendations on what publications the new council should distribute.
- Develop a communications plan to use with internal audiences to keep the membership informed of progress during the merger process.
- Develop a plan for combining all communication systems into one. Website, leader news, parent newsletter, older girl news, program book, training calendar, email systems, etc.
Governance
- Propose a method of governance for the new council and a formula for forming the new board.
- Develop new bylaws and present to the new combined membership.
Fund Development
- Develop an integrated Fund Development Plan for the new council.
- Inform all major donors to all the councils involved at 3 key dates during the merger process Oct 07, April 08 and Sept 08.
- Submit at least one grant for the new council or to fund the merger.
- Present the schedule of personal calls to reassure donors.
Finance
- Summarize the financial condition of both councils.
- Propose financial policies for the new council including investment and gift recognition policies.
- Propose a budget for the first two years of operation.
- Prepare cash-flow projections for the first two years of operation of the new council.
- Propose a plan and timeline for review and selection of a cookie supplier, integration of the Cookie Program Planning Committee into the new council’s financial structure.
- Recommend for renewal or notice of cancellation all contracts, loan arrangements, leases etc of both councils.
- Make recommendations for an auditor for the new council.
Human Resources
- Propose the staffing structure and accompanying salary ranges.
- Develop the new employed personnel policies.
- Develop the new volunteer management policies for the new council.
Ceo Search - Committee Charge
- Take training from a representative of GSUSA
- Choose an executive search firm and have it approved by the CRC
- Identify desirable criteria and conduct the search for a CEO to lead the new council
- Submit the final candidate for approval by the CRC – target date May 2008
